Six Seattle pitchers combined on a no-hitter as the Mariners held on for a 1-0 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers in the opener of a three-game series at Safeco Field.
It was the third no-hitter in Mariners' history and the first combined no-hitter in Major League Baseball in almost nine years.
"Having that many guys coming in and keeping the no-hitter going is unbelievable," said Mariners infielder Kyle Seager.
Kevin Millwood went the first six innings before leaving the game with a strained right groin. Charlie Furbush, Stephen Pryor, Lucas Luetge, Brandon League and Tom Wilhelmsen finished off the fourth no-hitter of the 2012 season.
This was the 10th combined no-hitter in major league history and the first since the Houston Astros needed six pitchers to beat the New York Yankees in 2003.
Chris Bosio and Randy Johnson are the only other Mariner hurlers to pitch a no-hitter.
